International Women’s Day at Imaginif

March 8th 2008 by Megan Bayliss in Child Abuse

Article by Megan BaylissHappy International Women’s Day to our sisters everywhere. Instead of sharing our stories, we share some photos of ourselves: there are no airbrushed parts or fancy photography tricks. We are as you see us. We are women!

What does the average women look like? She’s a real beauty, just like you. We are tall, short, over weight, skinny, normal, hairy, hairless, black, white, old, and young. We wear our ethnic genes with great pride and we look fantastic no matter where we are because we are comfortable in our skin tight, or lose, genes. We are real women. We are your sisters, wives, daughters, mothers, nieces, aunts, friends, neighbours and cousins. We are you because we are a community of real beauty.

Suzy says: Just for fun, while Roxy Pro was on here at Snapper Rocks. Also, I do just love where I live and the power of the sea. We call it paradise. I believe we women are all powerful and if we remember to acknowledge that power that is within everyone of us we can impact firstly ourselves, then our family and friends, our on line and off line communities and the world. We can make a difference.

Megan says: I LOVE being a woman. Happy International Women’s Day to the sisters all over the world. No matter what your colour, creed, politics or social status, I hold my hand out and offer you a place in our online community of safety. Join me in helping to make child protection serious business. Sue says: Many women of the world do not have a voice. I have a voice but I can’t talk very well because of Dystonia (the machine in the picture is my voice magnifier) so please do read what I have to say over at Spasmodic Dysphonia. Women of all abilities have the right to be heard and to blog loudly. On International Women’s Day I ask you not to overlook the voice of women, women with a disability and those who rely on blogging as a necessary communication tool.

Thank you women. We had a great afternoon. I’m about to post some of the afternoon tea pics. It was relaxed and very loud because of all the chatter - was lovely to see women interacting with each other and making some new contacts.

And Suzy….what are you talking about; you ARE a star.
