Sex in the City for this dancing secret Santa

Welcome to movement medicine dispenser and sex counsellor, Velvet Eldred from Ecsta-She. Velvet became a secret Santa because she believes in helping others and paying it forward….plus, a little help with her own site was a great calling card for Velvet.

Ecsta-She offers movement medicine and counselling. For women who want to dance with other women, Ecsta-She offers a sacred and healing space to restore the ecstatic feminine and create the modern goddess. For women and men who seek sex counselling, Velvet is an expressive therapist that helps lead couples to the divine sex that they seek.

I had never met a sex counsellor before so I was curious to meet with Velvet and discuss her small business plans. Her counselling and dance business is currently part time because Velvet is also a community theatre worker and is involved in cabaret and street theatre.  She is so creative and colourful, spending time with Velvet saw my creativity spike and my bravery for change increase three fold.

Sex counselling for couples or singles is by appointment. Please make contact with Velvet Eldred via her contact page. Ecsta-She Dance is held in Cairns every Wednesday night, 8 – 10 pm at the Body Mind and Breath Yoga Studio, 55 Spence St, Cairns.

Velvet is waiting to be matched as a secret Santa. No matter where you are in the world, a secret Santa will perpetrate random acts of kindness on your small business website (all year long) and increase traffic, sales conversion and goodwill. What a wonderful way to make the Christmas spirit last throughout the year. Interested in being matched? Read more here.

Fancy having a sex counsellor as your secret Santa. I wonder what sort of little presents she would send? Given her background in the community arts they are bound to be colourful.

Back from San Fran full of Guts N’ Glory AND wearing a secret Santa hat

Yes sir, Cairns based Marion Heyeres from Guts N’ Glory is back from her passion test training in San Fransisco. The shingle is on her door and she is open for business. If you expect personal miracles then go see the miracle worker: Marion Heyeres at Guts N’ Glory

I throughly recommend Marion as a Passion Test facilitator and I have first hand experience of her service from a consumers point of view: Passion Test Thumb Up. After my session with Marion it was like I was marinating in Christmas spirit. She pushed my passion button and helped me work out exactly where I needed to focus my innate passions. Thank you, Marion.

As soon as Marion came home from San Fran, she joined up as a secret Santa and began playing along. I can see her stats rising daily so her secret Santa is doing their job and helping to profile and positively market Marion’s small business website. Similarly, Marion is pushing her website buddy’s website with all the Guts N’ Glory in the world. Best thing is, neither website buddy knows who their secret Santas are :) hehe….I love a bit of suspense and magic – it makes the rest of the year feel like Christmas.

I am passionate about our ALL YEAR LONG secret Santa system for small business websites and blogs. Come and join our fun: it is anonymous (like a secret Santa) and fully supportive of positively supporting another small business website somewhere in the world. By helping others, you cannot go wrong. You join and you get a secret Santa. Easy peasy.

Book Creator Expo in Cairns

Writers and publishers from all over Australia will be converging on the Cairns Book Creator Expo (September 25, 2010) to showcase their books, services,  attend workshops and to network with guest speakers: Barbara Ramsay Bossert (Melbourne writer, actress and film maker) and Helen Ross (Brisbane children’s author).

Held in Cairns during Peace Week, come and rub shoulders with local and national writers. Who knows what leads you may pick up to assist your writing career.

I have had the pleasure of a pre-read of a poetry book (by the divine Goddess, Leticia De Rosa) that is to be launched at the Book Creators Expo. I am not a poetry reader or writer but the style, the imagery and the metre had me glued to the manuscript. The poems are about Cairns – her majesty and her cruelty. They are full of emotion, taste and the smells of Cairns.

There are also two writers workshops on offer during the Book Creators Expo: Learning Sessions for aspiring and established writers.

See you at the Book Creators Expo, September 25th, 10am-1pm, Mecure Harbourside, Esplanade, Cairns. I’ll be there on a table with fair trade journals and advertising my web development and freelance web content writing.

To book a table, contact expo organiser, Letizia De Rosa.

How the writer got her groove back

For a smart woman I’m pretty dumb sometimes!!! I have been stressing because I just have not been able to find the time to write to Writer’s Prompts Daily or to work on a book project (secret squirrel stuff).

Prone to an over developed super ego that growls me for being anything less than super woman,  have been blaming my age, my eye sight, and my abilty for not smashing through the work as I usually do.  I felt stressed as a result of not performing.

Last night I called a meeting with myself and gave myself a good talking to. I put myself on performance review and provided warning that a pay drop would continue unless I picked up my game and performed miracles again.

In defence of myself I came up wih all sorts of reasons why I don’t have enough hours in the day for my extra curricula activities….and then the truth fell on me like a brick of bird shit falling from afar!

What a baby I am! The reason I’m not getting through everything is because I am actually sleeping for the first time in years! That is a fantastic thing. Congratulations to me. Where once I arose at 4.30am to knock over all my personal tasks before work, nowadays I am not getting up until 7am and thinking that I can still squash personal, university and freelance work into my day. Huh! I am such an idiot.

I’m not working at a lesser rate. I’m working less hours and trying to fit the same amount in as I was producing before.

I refuse to become super woman again so therefore I am back at the drawing board looking at which extra curricula activities can go out the window. It won’t be my writing and it won’t be my study. I’ve already given up housework and sport. Ummmm, perhaps I’ll give up stressing and just cruise happily along. It’s okay if I don’t get everything done, every single day.

Stressed spelt backward is desserts. I’m going to swap being stressed for desserts by the pool :) Life is indeed good.

Don’t forget that along with creating words for your business, I build fantastic wordpress sites for people wanting to increase their internet presence.  I’ve just finished hacking a free blogspot theme for a client - Penny Pearling. Now there is a woman who knows how to have fun. Man, she is one hot lady! I damn near melted when I read her ebook! My recommendation: if you need a little something to get you going, read Penny!

Penny encouraged me to put my own book up on smashwords too (mine is not raunchy like Penny’s is – mine is a children’s book). Bitss of Caramel Marmalade on Toast is now available as a multi-format ebook at Smashwords. As many of you know, the book is a novel approach to teaching body ownership and personal safety in a non threatening way. I hope you’ll take time to check it out at Smashwords, where you can sample the first 30% of the book for free. To buy the book is only $3.00 compared to $15.00 for a hard copy in a book store.
