Sustainable Childhood Heroes

June 3, 2008

Buy a cape for Childhood Hero Day on June 13 and make it a donation that feeds threefold:

  1. A donation to the Australian Childhood Foundation,
  2. a cape to wear on Childhood Hero Day (June 13) and
  3. an apron for when you are finished. I know my boys think I am an ongoing  hero in the kitchen so now I have the sustainable fashion to prove it (pictured) :)

Become the change you want,
hero day June 13

There’s still time to get your cape or badges and to be an everyday childhood hero.

PS: Check our Cairns artist Jean Burman’s post and cartoon: Childhood Hero Day June 13. Thanks Jean. You are a childhood hero.

Where is the wolf whistling smiley face?!
Being a Childhood Hero definitely suits you, Megan.
Our capes and badges are on the way, including one for every animal member of the kewl house, and my post for Childhood Hero Day is now up :)

What a great idea. My two capes arrived today and the youngest is not interested in wearing it, but I could certainly do with a new apron!

    Hey A and PQ.
Wow, how lovely that the animals are going to wear capes too A. I bet the goat tries to eat it!!! Loved, loved, loved, your post A.

I was just mucking around pretending to be a matador with my cape when the apron idea just jumped upon my belly. I am always chasing an apron. Because I have a 4 baby belly, my tummy region is always the first to cop the cooking stains. Many aprons I hate but I would be SUPER proud to wear a childhood hero apron (after all - the hand that rocks the cradle and cooks the dinner rules the world). Don’t let me be the only one to be a kitchen hero though PQ - lets have a pic of you in your new apron.

Got something to say about the above post or child safety in general?
