Donate today on Childhood Hero Day

It is Childhood Hero Day today. A day for all of us ordinary folk to become super natural and full of super powers.
What super power do you choose to buy from the hero shop? I choose bionic listening so that I can hear beyond the words and into the emotional intelligence of our kids. The reason we have two ears and only one mouth is because it is twice as hard to listen as it is to talk. The silence around child abuse is entrenched so my ears may just need that hero boost of super power to help kids that need help.
Over at Birdwing Therapies, Keran talks about the power of one: the power of one person and one dollar to make a difference in the life of a hurt Australian child. If we each shut our eyes, our ears and our hearts to the plight of abused children then we are allowing the abuse to continue and there will be no one to be a hero. Herohood is expensive and not well funded by governments: nor is it government’s job to fully fund. If we each open our eyes, our ears and our hearts and give just $1.00 then we prove we are a nation of heroes, a nation of doers and a nation that values our future.
I hear Keran’s sentiment of the power of one: I, for one, are willing to help make a difference in the life of an abused child. I was donating $25.00 and an additional $1.00 for each person who blogged about childhood hero day and linked back to my post. There’s only $5.00 so far. PLEASE, there’s still time. Blog about childhood hero day now and help Imaginif to increase our corporate donation – you have until 4pm. I will make my donation at 4.30pm. On top of this, I will add the power of $1.00 to each of my ears. I now bequeath $27.00 plus a dollar for each Childhood Hero Day blog post that links back to mine (current total for Imaginif to donate to the Australian Childhood Foundation for Childhood Hero Day is $32.00).
Be the change you want, hero day June 13
What will you do with the power of one today?
Donate to Childhood Hero Day
Every dollar is a super human hero intervention into the insidious cycle of child abuse in Australia.
If you prefer to see something for your donation: buy a hero cape or badge (only $5.00 or $3.00)

Happy Childhood Hero Day – Bionic ear Megan!
Our community raised almost $400 for the Australian Childhood Foundation today!! How kewl it was to see people coming together to support our kids.
I got to wear my hero underwear on the outside, too!
$400.00….that is amazing. Oh A, I got goose bumps!!!!!
Was that donations from traumatised children wanting you to put your knickers back on the inside?
Well done to you and your community, A. I am impressed.
Well done to the kewl kittens. You girls are just the best.

LOL Megan – You know me so well!
Yes, there were a few “put your knickers away!” donations!
By mid morning we’d run out of cake that the local bakery had given us to sell and there were just my cup cakes left – People paid NOT to have to eat them. That is what I call super hero smarts.
You did a marvellous job A. I hope the Australian Childhood Foundation thanks you personally. You deserve it.
I have just made a $50.00 donation via the secure online credit card facilities at the Childhood Hero Day site.
Cmon Aussie bloggers – together we can help Aussie kids affected by child abuse. Just $1.00; that’s all it costs to be a childhood hero.
