Have heard the same thing from another person as well. I tested with a single column and exactly the same thing happened on the other person's monitor - the column dropped right down. The only issue seems to be the double column on the right side. For some reason in my monitor I can see all the adds/widgets of the first column (making the page look a little empty) and below that all the second column. Not sure if that is the intended effect.
