My role models are me

mariapa_en_carupano by tiano69 at sxc photo exchangeAs I sat and reflected on my life I was able to identify five significant players in making me who I am: my role models. Writing down the specific qualities that my role models possessed made me wonder if it would be possible for me to step into a new me – a new me that has all the qualities that I admire in my famous five. Of course it is possible. I am a woman and women can do anything.

In How to change in two easy steps I identified a self improvement exercise that assists in preparing and becoming comfortable with impending behavioural and psychological change (exercise 2).  Taking my own medicine, I opted to lump all of my magic five’s ingredient’s into me sitting opposite me. Stepping into the sitting me, the me with all the admirable qualities of my role models, felt FANTASTIC. So good, in fact, that I am going to keep doing it until I claim all those bits of admiration I identify in others.

Well practised at this technique of change (in the early days I used Whoopi Goldberg and Karrie Webb as my admirable people), seeing me and feeling me with other people’s coveted qualities was easy. For many people, this technique may start off as difficult. Preserver and keep visualising yourself with all the qualities of those you aspire to be like. A fake it till you make it exercise, it is impossible to soak up the qualities you desire without eventually owning them and integrating them into your daily life.

To your success, because you deserve it.

How to get motivated for boring jobs

Washing up by Dollface-1 at stock exchangeHaving trouble motivating yourself to get a small task done? Depression is so common, so debilitating and so energy robbing that many people struggle to get the smallest tasks done. Even those of us not depressed often struggle to do something because it is just so repetitively boring (washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, taking trash out, doing the filing…shall I keep going!)

In our house, my husband does the house work and I do all the cooking. A GREAT negotiation because I HATE housework with a passion. Discussion with husband who just came home to a sink full of my family dishes revealed his secret power tool of motivation:

Menial=meaningful=momentum

That is so true. Completing a menial task, like washing the dishes, has a meaningful effect on the kitchen and the family. Once the dishes are done, the clean space created causes a momentum of other kitchen duties: hanging the tea towels, wiping the bench, taking the trash out. And it all takes such a minimal amount of time!

Turning the above power tool into an affirmation, I will begin believing that doing menial tasks creates a meaningful action and keeps my momentum going.

I’ll let you know if my subconscious hears my new mantra and takes over, or whether I run away screaming because the water in the sink was too hot ;) What’s more likely to work for me is employing the power tool of motivation in my home office. I am slow to get my administrative tasks done because I consider them less important than my people contacts. However, doing the admin, makes my work easier, more ordered and sets me in a powerful mindset of total concentration and income generation activity.

Try Paul’s power tool affirmation and let me know how it works for you:

Doing menial tasks creates a meaningful action and keeps my momentum going.

Write it down and stick it somewhere you can see it. Say it, every time you see it. Say it 20 times (it’s all about momentum :) )and concentrate on getting your daily tasks done. The subconscious is a powerful thing and soaks up what we concentrate on. If we concentrate on having no motivation, we will never get any motivation. If we concentrate on doing menial tasks to create a meaningful action our momentum keeps going.

Freedom and independence

Nothing is more precious than freedom and independence
Ho Chi Minh 1969

My father was a three tour veteran of the Vietnam war. A career soldier, he retired on his 40th birthday as Captain Peter Bayliss.

My father’s career gave me three important life lessons:

  1. War is not acceptable. Freedom can be gained in alternative ways to war.
  2. All people matter – even those we disagree with or those who hurt us, and
  3. Retiring early is a sign of true freedom and independence.

Peace keeping at Cairns Laser TagMuch to my Army Officer father’s disgust (and my son’s disgust; he’s pictured in his camo laser tag gear), I grew up a conscientious objector. I am one of the people who flew No War signs on their home during the lead up to the Iraq war. I am also one of those who wept as the Twin Towers fell and screamed the “why” questions.

My political allegience is to people. I want everyone to have freedom and independence. I desire for the world to live together in harmony…for patriarchy and capatalism to be gone…for ALL children to be safe from ALL harms.

My office of service is to the average person on the street. I value community driven initiatives, personal ethics and responsibility.  Most of all I value my own peace, security, independence and happiness. Many years ago I realised that those values I seek were not outside of me in the control of people doing things I did not like,  but rather, inside me, just waiting for me to enact them.

Following years of professional study in Social Work and empowerment, the self development tools I had gathered appeared to be making little difference to individuals living in a world obsessed with creating war, disharmony and control.

Obviously a slow learner, it took me some time to realise that simply having knowledge in peace, security, freedom and independence DOES NOT mean that I act it out or have it myself. There are steps I must do, in my home, in my life, on a daily basis, to develop peace, freedom and independence deep within me. If I am a meteorologist and have knowledge that it is going to rain, it does not protect me from getting wet if I go out side without an umbrella. I have to take the umbrella with me and open it up before I get wet.

So began a personal journey of improving my life, beyond freedom. Doing the Beyond Freedom personal development course is the best thing I have done. It has changed my thinking and provided me a deep sense of peace and freedom. The reselling aspect of the Liberty League business is providing me financial independence and bringing me closer to my dream of being like my Dad and retiring on my 40th birthday (well, 40 left me five years ago but I’m happy to work on being well and truly retired by my 50th!!!).

If you are looking to change your life and to marry happiness, peace, freedom and financial independence then I thoroughly recommend having a look at either

For those chasing the illusive affiliate dollar or Google ad sense few cents, make a choice to instead go beyond freedom. One of my associates just made $181,000.00 in a month….simply by following the system and reselling the best self development tools I have ever come across. If you speak English or Spanish, no matter where you live in the world, you may well qualify to become a Liberty League associate. Talk to me and let me help you to change your life, Beyond Freedom.

Do it yourself therapy, a question of collection

Spray painting by ilco at photo stock exchangeIf your life was a blank canvas,
what is the first object you would paint?

Therapists are in the business of question collection. The above is a great question and I offer it to you for your collection. While some people collect stamps, some antiques and some Royal Doulton fine china tea trios, we therapists collect things that cost us nothing but enrich the lives of those we ask the question of.

Questions can change lives and words can help rather than hurt. Do you use your questions wisely or do you just flap off at the mouth asking questions to elicit the sound of your own voice and to make yourself sound like a wise counsellor?

After twenty years of professional and academic involvement in self development, I arrogantly thought there were few questions that would elicit deep thinking and heartfelt change in me (do it yourself therapy if you like). I thought my collection was pretty robust and that the offers I was getting for my collection (professional supervision fees) was confirmation of my most excellent collection.

[Sound buzzer] WRONG. While working through the Beyond Freedom self development course, I came upon a question that I cannot get out of my mind: If your life was a blank canvas, what is the first object you would paint? This single question has my head spinning with deep thought and I can feel the change process rising from my toes.

If my life was a blank canvas, the first thing I would paint would be bright colours coming from what will become my mouth: floral words that are petals with fragrant smells and soft beautiful touches.

I ask you now; If your life was a blank canvas, what is the first object you would paint?

The words of help and encouragement I leave you with now are: Join me in the Beyond Freedom journey of self development. The course has changed my life from good to excellent (and I’m heading toward great financial gain in it too – far more than my professional fees were bringing me).

Every day in every way, I am getting better and better. How about you?

If your life was a blank canvas, what is the first object you would paint?

Change your life by visualising your ideal day

What does your ideal day look like? No barriers, no limitations; a total day dream and a touch of magic. Here’s mine

I wake up happy in our beautiful old Queenslander at 30 James St, Cairns. Everyone else in the house wakes up shortly after me, also happy. The air is warm and smells like summer (frangapanni, mango, pineapple). The gentle and safe sound of the sea and tropical birds brings me joy as I plan a day of relaxed meandering with my family. There is a peace over everyone. Home staff arrive to begin their jobs of keeping everything house and garden related in tip top condition: the house is clean, filled with bright tropical flowers and furnished with beautiful antiques. Our garden is a botanic garden: big, green, tropical and there are inviting paths meandering throughout so that peace, tranquillity and beauty are easily grabbed at any time. I meander in my botanic garden while I await a garden breakfast with Paul and Boy, Jade and Amalie. The plan for the day is to do whatever we desire. We are so wealthy that we can do what we want, without limitations and beyond freedom. We only do good though because we live a life of ethics and service to others. I am happy because I have peace both in my heart and in my home surrounds.

I have concentrated daydreams around my ideal day. I desire to have everyday as my ideal day and I invite its occurrence by imagining how I feel, what the smells and sounds are and what the conversations are going to be. Better than that though, by simply visualising and connecting my emotional intelligence (deep feeling) to my visualisation, I am making it happen…without doing anything more than evoking the law of attraction.

Most of us know what we don’t want so we think on that. Filling our thoughts with negatives and feelings attached to negatives actually increases the likelihood of negatives remaining around us. Get out! There’s no way I’m inviting more negatives into my life!!!!

Practice knowing what you want and visualise how you feel when you have what you want. Visualise daily and enjoy the abundance of positivity that naturally flows your way when you change your mind set from, “I don’t know what I want,” to, “I know exactly what I want.”  If you suck on a lemon you get a screwed up face. If you suck on a sweetie, your face is frown-less. Try changing your negative thoughts to positive thoughts and enjoy visualising your frown-less day.

My botanic garden fills me with peace and serenity and helps me reach my goals.

Make the most out of every day. Choose self development with potential CEO pay to do it.
